What a great story Sylvia and Phil have! And what a gift it was to work (although it felt so much more like play) with them last Sunday. They met in high school. In fact, we all went to high school together (Oh how I LOVE Facebook for reconnecting old friends!). But you wouldn’t exactly call Sylvia and Phil childhood sweethearts because they both went their separate ways, tried to find love along their paths, but after some broken hearts and wounded partings, they found each other — just within the last few years. And they are radiantly happy about that! So guess where we did our shoot: At our old high school where it all began! It was amazing going back there. Our high school friends have remained very close over all these years, so being back there really did feel like, well, like we were back in high school. And for Sylvia & Phil… doing it right this time!
I loved being around them. They are so comfortable — both with each other, and with their own selves. It is a joy to photograph people whose real love and emotions radiate from them like something tangible you can touch. I swear my camera could feel it… I know I did!
Sylvia and Phil, THANK YOU… for sharing yourselves with me and my camera. Thank you for making the fairy tale seem so very alive and well. And thanks for letting me have a photo part of your happily ever after!
So, here you go: their pictures, with music especially for Sylvia 🙂
