In case you can’t tell from my website & if you know me… from just knowing me… I LOVE photographing children being children! There is something so pure and soul filling about a still photo of a child just celebrating childhood! It’s my goal in every photograph I take of a child to show that celebration and purity of soul.
This is an image of my granddaughter, Abby, on a very happy day together at a Texas beach. She was just being Abby. My heart is warm and happy remembering the memory of that day.
So today, the memory has been made even sweeter when I was notified that this image was juried into a Texas Photographic Society photography exhibit called “Celebrations”. And even sweeter still, it was awarded an Exhibit Honorable Mention by the juror, Harvey Stein, who is a New York photographer, lecturer, author, and university teacher with credentials a mile long – credentials that make my heart flutter imagining what it would be like to be so accomplished!
The exhibit will be on display at the A Smith Gallery of Art in Johnson City from November 23rd thru December.
I love love LOVE you, Abby Kristine! Thanks for the memory, and for celebrating childhood every day the way you do!!!
