I can’t even tell you how much I loved… I mean LOVED… taking Nathan Hosea’s newborn photos. I think the experience meant more to me than it did to Ross & Cindy. There were several moments when I actually wanted to cry — like when we’d snuggle him up, or position him just so — with a kiss or with a beautiful glowing mom or dad looking on. And you know what? It’s true: even our “man’s man” daddy looked so glowing and beautiful as he gazed at his brand new baby! Such love and a sense of wonder filled the room. It was emotional.
I love newborn photography so much! And little Nathan was about as good as it gets! Less than 2 weeks old, and as contented and angelic as a little doll! There’s something about a baby that small cuddling up like they are still in the womb that gives you such an amazing sense of the miraculous.
So, I’m not going to talk your ears off. I’ll just share the video and let you bask in the miracle of Nathan. At the time of the shoot, he was 5 lbs, 8 oz, and about 10 days old. I’m so in love!

About Sandy
I'm Sandy Powers, full-time photographer, doing what I
love with my life! My passion is PEOPLE! There is such artistry in people, and I love capturing it: in fine art portraiture, in weddings, or even in a stunning landscape.
I recently watched an interview with Kim Walker, a well-known Christian worship leader. What she said resonated with me and pretty much describes my own story. She said, "I didn't have to force things to happen. I didn't have to push. I didn't have to overly promote myself or call people and beg them to hire me. In fact, I didn't have to do
anything except keep my eyes on Jesus and watch Him bring my destiny to me." That's how I feel. I walk each day by faith, and my eyes are on Him! I have watched in amazement as He has orchestrated circumstance to bring my destiny to me. I thank Him daily for allowing me to not only do what I love, but to use what I love to bless others!
So, how is "the destiny" unfolding? Well. . . . My work was juried into a museum exhibit at the Martin Museum of Art at Baylor University, I have been featured in Outdoor Photographer Magazine, my portraiture and fine art have won several international awards, and I currently have the great honor of being a member of a fine art gallery called Perspectives Gallery of Art where my photography is displayed and sold to the public. Also, one of my portraits was recently selected by an Adobe Lightroom blog as one of the top 50 most stunning black and white photos.
Anything else??? Send me a note (Sandy@SandyP.net)! I LOVE meeting new people, sharing my story, and best of all, documenting the magic moments in your life so that the fairy tale can stay alive forever!
Oh Sandy, everyone of these images are perfect!
Babies are such a blessing and your talent has captured this little angel from above beyond what I can describe with mere words.
I don’t know where to give all the credit. To you Sandy for capturing such beautiful photos of a newborn, or to God Himself for the miraculous gift of life, or to Ross & Cindy through their love creating such a beautiful baby. No matter who gets the credit, new life is so special, and you were able to stop time, forever captured in beautiful images.
